18th and 19th February Saturday and Sunday	West of England Junior Championships (Swindon)	The West of England championships is held in Swindon (Wiltshire), and welcomes all players.  It should have championships suited to under 18, under 14, under 12, under 10, under 9, under 8, and possibly tournaments for Beginners and Intermediate players. Sunday 19th February	Leyland Rapidplay (Leyland) 25 minutes per game	This tournament welcomes players of all ages.  You will play 6 games and have 25 minutes to play all your moves in each game.  The minor section of this tournament is for players graded under 100 which might make it more suitable for junior players. Monday 9th April	Surrey Junior Championships (Sutton)	A 5 round tournament with age groups from U7 to U13.  The top three age sections will be ECF graded.  If you are interested in taking part, Email: Marda Dixon The Surrey Junior Championships are run alongside a rapidplay tournament open to players of all ages. 14th and 15th April Saturday and Sunday	National Junior Squad Championships (Venue to be confirmed)	The two day Junior Squad championships should have separate under 16, under 14, under 12 and under 10 championships.  The venue will be confirmed as soon as practical. 16th and 17th June Saturday and Sunday	NPSCC - semi-final (Prestatyn) (Prestatyn) 50 minutes per game	Prestatyn semi-final of the National Primary Schools Chess Team Championships - held in North Wales. Also, the venue for the Prestatyn Team plate competition.
July
3rd and 4th July Tuesday and Wednesday	NPSCC (Final) (Brean Sands)	Finals of the National Primary Schools Chess Team Championships.
22nd July to 4th August Sunday to Saturday	British Junior Championships (North Shields)	Just a note that the 2012 British Championships are due to be held between 22 July and 4 August. Details to be confirmed, but there should be British Champion titles available for players aged U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15 and U16. U8 is likely to be a 1 day touranment, U9 a two day tournament, and the others played as 7 round tournaments over 6 days. More details as they become available.
