For all chess players aged up to 18, details of chess events, championships, congresses and tournaments that you might be interested in will be listed here when I know about them. Details below are as accurate as possible but please confirm event details with the organiser before making any arrangements. Thank you.

British Junior Championships 2017

(Llandudno) 

Just a note that the 2017 British Championships are due to be held in Llandudno between 28 July and 6 August.

Details to be confirmed, but there should be British Champion titles available for players aged U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15 and U16.

The U8 is likely to be a 1 day touranment, U9 a two day tournament, and the others played as 7 round tournaments over 6 days.

More details as they become available.

For more confident young players, as skills improve, entering a local rapidplay congress might become an option.  Rapidplay congresses often include adult players as well as juniors..  Starting with a local rapidplay should mean there will be other juniors and parents you already know.
